FEVER END TOUGH WEEK WITH WIN OVER SPARKS

This scrappy Indiana Fever has had a lot to overcome this week off and on the court. On the court, the fever had won only 2 of their 9 games this season. Then on Wednesday, the Fever parted ways with coach Marianne Stanley. Stanley had a record of 12 – 42 as Fever’s head coach and after another slow start to this season, The Fever decided to move on.

So after a hard-fought loss on Tuesday night against the Chicago Sky in which the Fever lost 95-90.  The young Fever team wakes up Wednesday to find out their head coach had been fired.  The Fever named assistant coach Carlos Knox the interim head coach for the rest of the season. That left the newly crowned head coach one day to get his team ready to play the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday.

The young fever team showed a lot of heart and resolve and defeated the Los Angeles Sparks Friday at home by the score of 101-96. The win was the Fever’s third win of the season and improved their record to 3 – 7 on the season. The Fever was led by Kelsey Mitchell with 22 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds. Both Victoria Vivians and NaLyssa Smith added 17 points.
