As the Chiefs look towards continuing their dominance over the AFC, there are some aspects that they can work on. Today I look at 3 receivers that they should look towards signing to help Mahomes, Hill, Kelce, and others in the explosive offense that they have.
Davante Adams
While this one may not be as realistic of a signing as the others on the list, Adams should be considered one of the most sought after players going into free agency. With him being one of the top WR’s in the league, pairing him up with Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Patrick Mahomes is a no brainer. If the Chiefs are able to get the cap space to sign him, he will provide a consistency that the Chiefs need if Tyreek is having an off game. With 123 receptions, 1,553 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns for the year, he remained the answer for the offense in Green Bay. Now with talks of Aaron Rodgers either retiring or going to another team, Adams could be on the move too. But it’s too soon to tell depending on Aaron Rodgers.
Mike Williams
Coming off a breakout year with the Chargers, recording career highs in receptions and receiving yards with 76 receptions for 1,146 yards and having a near career high 9 touchdowns. With so many options for the Chargers, Williams became a low WR1 and a very high WR2. And while the 5 year receiver from Clemson has had his ups and downs on his career, a stop for at least a year in Kansas City would greatly improve aspects to his career. With help from Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce and having Mahomes throw him the ball every Sunday, he could have a stellar season and being in the running for top 10 WR.
Matthew Slater
The 11 time selected captain of the New England Patriots is set to become a free agent. And while it is not confirmed whether the 37 year old veteran will play or not, if he does the Chiefs should consider trying to get him to leave the Patriots. Slater brings a unique leadership and amazing play style to a team. He has the ability to give young players and rookies a better understanding of the game and how to do things better.
