Chris Garagiola New Voice of Diamondback Radio
The Arizona Diamondbacks have named Chris Garagiola the Radio Play-By-Play Announcer starting in the 2024 season. Garagiola will replace Greg Schulte as the second permanent radio play-by-play voice in Arizona Diamondbacks history making him.
Garagiola’s History
Garagiola spent time with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos as the lead broadcaster on their network. He’s also a founding member of the “Tiger Network”, which is Trinity University’s first broadcasting service. Chris Garagiola attended Trinity University where he also spent time as a sports anchor on the University’s local news show. Garagiola also shared on air duties with Schulte the last two seasons, while hosting the pre and post game shows.
The Garagiola family Is very familiar to the fanbase, in large part due to his father and grandfather. Garagiola is the third member of his family to work for the Arizona Diamondbacks. His Grandfather Hall-of-Famer Joe Garagiola Sr spent 58 years in broadcasting. Diamondback fans have the privilege to enjoy the last 15 years of Joe’s career. Chris’s father, Joe Garagiola Jr, played a major role in bringing baseball to Arizona. Joe became the Arizona Diamondbacks general manager from 95-05, and currently serves as senior director for the organization. Ultimately Joe is responsible for constructing the 2001 World Series team with all of our Diamondback favorites.
