Arizona Cardinals Draft Update: Harrison Jr?

Arizona Cardinals Draft Update No Harrison Jr?

Arizona Cardinals Draft Update, No Harrison Jr? Of course, as you know Marvin Harrison Jr has been the target for Arizona Cardinal fans since the cardinals entered training camp. The Cardinals seasons started with the impression they would be shooting for 2 top 5 picks in the NFL draft, with some experts predicting the cardinals would own the top 2 picks in the NFL draft. The Houston Texans and CJ stroud have had something else in mind this season, sporting a 7-5 record coming off a 22-17 win over the Denver Broncos in week 13. This is great news for the Houston Texans who do not own a 1st round pick this year. As for the Arizona Cardinals this has somewhat derailed their plans for the 2024 draft. So, let’s take a look at where we stand as of week 14 in the NFL.

Updated Top 5

1. Chicago Bears – From Carolina Panthers 1-11

The Chicago Bears are in a very unique position, currently sitting with the number 1 pick in the draft and a Quarterback in Justin Fields. With Justin Fields showing glimpses of what influenced the Chicago Bears to take Justin Fields as their “Franchise Quarterback” in the 2021 NFL DRAFT. The Bears now have to decide whether or not they will move forward with Justin Fields under the Helm or go after what most view as a Generational Talent in USC’s Caleb Williams.

If the Chicago Bears decide not to trade the first pick and move on from Justin Fields, then we will see Caleb Williams go #1 overall to the Chicago Bears. However, we may see the bears decide to stick with Fields leaving them with the decision to trade or keep the pick and build around him in the draft.

Alt Pick – Olumuyiwa Fashanu – Penn State (If bears choose to keep Fields and pick)

If the Chicago Bears decide to move forward with Fields, the Offensive line is something they need to get under control. Justin Fields has been sacked time and time again behind center this season for the bears.

Bears Pick – Caleb Williams

2. New England 3-10

When the New England Patriots drafted Mac Jones drafted in the 2021 NFL draft by the New England Patriots has not lived up to the expectations Bill Belichick and the Patriots had. Mac Jones has been awful this year for the Patriots. Everyone wants to win games, but a top draft pick might be whats best for the Patriots moving forward. The Patriots without a shadow of a doubt will have a new Quarterback next year. Drafting Drake Maye might just be the best-case scenario for both Belichick and the Patriots moving forward.

Alt Pick – Michael Penix Jr

Bill Always finds a way to make the best out of his picks. Watch for the patriots to make a trade back in the middle of the first round and snag Penix or Daniels. This will allow them to come away with a franchise QB, and additional assets for their 1st round pick.

3. Arizona Cardinals 3-10

“Arizona Cardinals Draft Update, No Harrison Jr? “

The Arizona Cardinals find their selves in a similar situation as the Chicago Bears. Coming into the season the cardinals were hoping for 2 picks in the top 5. The Texans however have spoiled their plans a bit. Kyler Murray has a 4-game audition to end the season, with games against the division rivals the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers. The Arizona Cardinals and GM Monti Ossenfort will be playing close attention to how Kyler not only plays but progress to end the season. Best case scenario for the Arizona Cardinals would be for them to pick Marvin Harrison Jr and keep pushing forward with the highly talented Kyler Murray.

Alt Pick – Malik Nabers

The Arizona Cardinals have their sights set on Marvin Harrison Jr out of Ohio St. However, with news of Harrison being offered upwards of $20 Million worth of NIL money, Harrison’s transition to the NFL this season is in question. With that being said this could ultimately change the way the cardinals deal with the draft and there top 5 pick! This pick is another pick I am watching as a potential trade spot, as the cardinals can trade down in the draft pick up a Valuable WR in the middle of the draft and add more assets to fill holes on this rebuilding roster.

4. Washington Commanders 4-9

The Washington Redskins are a talented team just not living up to expectations. They would love to get a corner stone for their offensive line to help protect QB Sam Howell. The Commanders shed some salaries, with a few in season trades and are looking to rebuild this team!

Alt Pick – Dallas Turner

Drafting Dallas Turner is a great choice for the Commanders. After letting go of both Sweat and Young the defensive line needs help. Drafting Turner could fix this line for years to come.

5. Chicago Bears 4-8

The Chicago Bears are back again just 4 picks later. This pick will be based on what they choose to do with pick #1. If the Chicago Bears decide to stick with Fields watch for Dallas Turner if not already picked up.

Alt Pick – Malik Nabers

Malik Nabers the “Yac Gawd” will add a dynamic weapon to the Bears offense. This addition to the offense could change the approach to games moving forward. The duo of Dj Moore and Malik Nabers could cause problems similar to what defenses see when facing the Miami Dolphins Tandem of Hill and Waddle.

The 2024 NFL draft is shaping up to be a very interesting one for the whole league. There are a lot of Quarterback hungry teams in the NFL. To me this is arguably the most stacked draft at the position in quite some time. These next 5 weeks will be very crucial for the landscape of the NFL moving forward.
