Josh Harris and Commanders Unofficially approved by the NFL Financial Committee.

Today, we have some groundbreaking news that will send shockwaves through the NFL. The Washington Commanders, once an iconic franchise with a rich history, is on the verge of a new era. After 24 tumultuous years under owner Daniel Snyder, a change in ownership is finally on the horizon.

According to a recent report from the Washington Post, the NFL finance committee has unofficially voted to recommend the sale of the Commanders to Josh Harris and his group. This momentous decision is expected to be officially confirmed during an owners’ meeting in Minneapolis later this week. Once approved, it will mark the most expensive sale in NFL history, with a staggering price tag of $6.05 billion.

The torch will be passed from Daniel Snyder, whose tenure as owner has been a rollercoaster ride, to Josh Harris and his impressive group of partners. Harris, a native of the area, has expressed his enthusiasm and commitment to turning the Commanders into a championship-caliber franchise.

Harris will not be alone in this endeavor. Alongside him are his esteemed partners, including sports business veteran David Blitzer, renowned basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson, local business leader Mark Ein, and a remarkable lineup of other individuals and families who share the collective resources and vision to support the Commanders’ future success.

The news of the sale has already ignited a renewed sense of excitement, not only among fans but also among esteemed individuals within the football community. Legendary coach Joe Gibbs, who led Washington to three Super Bowl victories, released a statement expressing his support for Josh Harris and the new ownership group.

Harris is no stranger to sports ownership and already owns the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL’s New Jersey Devils. His previous involvement in bidding for the Denver Broncos has familiarized the league with his credentials, expediting the approval process for the Commanders’ sale.

While there were other interested parties, including Canadian billionaire Steve Apostolopoulos and Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta, it was Harris and his group who emerged victorious in the battle for ownership. Even Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, was rumored to be a potential bidder but eventually withdrew from the race.

With this change in ownership, the Washington Commanders are poised for a fresh start, bidding farewell to Daniel Snyder’s eventful but often controversial reign. The sale represents a new dawn for the franchise, where accountability, a winning culture, and a strong connection to the community will guide their path to success.

Get ready for an exciting future as the Washington Commanders embark on a journey to reclaim their former glory. Keep your eyes peeled for the official confirmation, and let’s welcome Josh Harris and his partners as they take the helm of the Commanders franchise.
